Donald Van der Vaart ’09,
Donald Van der Vaart ’09, was named by Governor Pat McCrory as the new leader for the NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Van der Vaart has worked with the department over 20 years, and recently served as deputy secretary and energy policy adviser. Previously, he served as an adjunct professor in engineering at NC State University, and held leadership roles for the NC Division of Air Quality.
